RECON'S CEO
Who Is Astrum Uilliam Silas?

During the Implosion Wars, beneath two thousand metres of compacted wasteland deposits lay a top-secret 7300 m² complex filled with untouched state-of-the-art translation and medical technology — updated the moment CROWN could get its hands on a better version. The complex was filled with top-of-the-line shell handlers and translators. Astrum Uilliam Silas, the latest addition to the Silas family line, stood unfazed. He had grown up with continuously evolving tech, a prodigy even among Goldline graduates; he had spent over 30 years networking with top shell translators and doctors. Even the method of...

Who Is Astrum Uilliam Silas?
which the youngest Silas boy found himself in the top-secret complex — injected inorganically by his father to monitor an old family rivalry between Lachlan and Jair V Antipater—was familiar. Antipater had a three-millennium-old business contract to fulfil in the form of the TEC Add-on Project; Uilliam just had to observe and report to his father. No one could have guessed that the youngest Silas would become a headache for everyone involved.

Jair V. Antipater described Uilliam as a "real pain in the ass" during the Project. Seasoned shell translators pushed deadlines closer to translate Astrum Avital "TEC" Anfas' cephalonic mind into an organic shell.

Uilliam fought relentlessly to ensure shell data security was considered during every routine transfer. He insisted that the process account for the safety, comfort, and dignity of the future Recommunic. While other minds on the project rushed for any mind, Avital or not, to inhabit TEC's organic shell, Uilliam made sure to untangle as much of Avital as he could from the cephalonic bridger. Silas family insiders report that during that time, Uilliam frequently spoke with his father Lachlan about the immense concern he had for both Anfas siblings.

He’d later design upgrades to Hazvat’s Terrain-to-Space (TTS) heavy-duty shell line, improving workers’ strength and life support functionality in vacuum. Today, what most shell connoisseurs keep a lookout for are his designer shells for commercial translation. Women particularly flock to obtain a designer shell from the man. Music producer SYNTYCHE, known for her exuberant shells, has stated before that his taste is unmatched, and that he “knows when to say no to a bad idea.” TEC recalls, ‘he wouldn’t give me bigger breasts,’ with Uilliam later explaining that the modification would compromise the female shells aesthetic integrity.

Uilliam spent his youth dreaming of designing high-performance shells. Pet-ri, organoid competitions, and other experiments consumed the halls of the Silas Estate at Iscis Heath. He never could have imagined he'd contribute to the most successful add-on project to date. Uilliam’s care resulted in a lifelong friendship with the Recommunic of S5, serving over 100 years as TEC’s personal shell handler. The Recommunic—having never felt the need for boundaries—fed into a cash-burning lifestyle Uilliam welcomed. Where most Astrums tend to stay frugal, Uilliam always had an eye for the luxurious. Designer shells, rubedo sportscars and off-planet parties being the norm for Uilliam.

Uilliam forgoes the polyamorous culture of Astrums, sporting a long list of monogamous partnerships—not unlike others of his status—but word within Silas inner circles suggests a lifelong crush on the Recommunic’s sister, Astrum Isa Anfas. Excitement brews among Silas insiders at the prospect of a Silas family member sharing the Recommunic’s lost blood.

Uilliam’s latest venture leans more political, as he builds his own brigade of Lachlan detractors all in the name of preserving shell privacy laws. Despite being the youngest, Uilliam feels no need to impress his father.

Lachlan Silas has embraced an Astrum-supremacist ideology, with political connections advocating for separate shell privacy laws for Astrums. To no surprise, the common talking point of disproportionate Astrum-Sapien shell data emerges.

Astrums, after all, have never been particularly precious about shell privacy. The habit goes back to their space-faring days, when limited resources and communal living made personal shell information everyone’s business. When everyone has access to the same information, solutions emerge quickly, and Lachlan noticed Astrums give away far more than their fair share. The argument is as follows: to prolong the quality of life for organic shells, personal shell information should be made public by default.

While Uilliam detailed his plans as RECON’s CEO, Lachlan was seen storming out of a financial meeting. “I get the impression he wants to appeal to MED and TON types, people who need that extra push to get to the top”, a successful economic journalist says. “When speaking to him, it is not hard to see the Silas influence. Class, wealth, good taste, but none of the qualities of his father. I’d say S5 is in good hands.”
